2020 Acura RDX Review

Luxury compact SUVs have become quite popular over the years for a number of reasons. They have the same interior features and enough cabin space while generally offering better gas mileage than their full-size counterparts. With so many options on the market, we at Sussman Auto Group wanted to help people make an informed decision on their next vehicle.

That’s why we put together this 2020 Acura RDX review for the drivers of Jenkintown, Abington, and Willow Grove. Below, you’ll find an inside look at all that this well-regarded luxury compact SUV has to offer.

Acura RDX Engine Specs

Formidable Engine Power

Under the hood of the Acura RDX, you’ll find a turbocharged 2.0L 4-cylinder engine. Mated to a 10-speed automatic transmission, this setup can generate up to 272 horsepower and 280 lb-ft of torque. The RDX also maintains an adequate fuel economy as a result of its smaller turbo engine, which comes in at an EPA-estimated 22 city/28 highway/24 combined MPG.*

Acura understands that while the 2020 RDX is a compact SUV, some drivers won’t want to forego performance-oriented technology. Luckily every model rolls out with Sequential SportShift Paddle Shifters. This allows you to switch into Sport+ mode for a fully manual-like driving experience or remain in Comfort mode for semi-manual driving.

Acura RDX Interior

A Plush Interior

When you open the driver’s side door of the Acura RDX and look inside, you’ll notice an array of elegant design components. The seating is trimmed with a tactile leatherette and the front seats are 12-way power-adjustable with lumbar support. Standard dual-zone automatic climate control will keep everyone happy, regardless of the season.

Turn to the center of your dash to access a 10.2-inch HD multimedia display. This is where you can control music or radio over a 9-speaker audio system. Instead of using a touchscreen to navigate the interface, the RDX has the conveniently located Acura True Touchpad Interface™. Smartphone integration affords you the ability to access certain apps for messaging, music, and navigation.

Acura RDX Safety

Safety First

We wouldn’t have begun with discussions of interior comforts and a nimble engine if the 2020 RDX didn’t have numerous advanced safety features. You can count on the standardly fitted AcuraWatch™ suite to help keep your family safe anywhere on the road.

These driver-assistive technologies include a Collision Mitigation Braking System™ (CMBS™) with Forward Collision Warning (FCW) and an Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) with Low-Speed Follow. The FCW and CMBS™ will work in tandem, first alerting you to a potential frontal impact and then subsequently applying brake pressure automatically to avoid or mitigate the collision.

However, the 2020 RDX is also designed on the Acura next-generation Advanced Compatibility Engineering™ (ACE™) body structure. ACE™ was created to better deflect impact forces away from the passenger cabin and redistribute them around the vehicle.
